Wassa Amenfi East Assembly Members confirmed the Appointed MCE

The confirmation of the President’s MCE nominee, Mr. Frederick Korankye, was held on Monday 4th October 2021 at the Wassa Akropong Municipal’s Assembly Hall.
41 Assembly Members were present and voted. Two-third of the members present and voting must give the nominee their nod to confirm him. Out of the 41 members; 6 voted NO and 35 voted YES, giving the nominee an 82% nod from the Assembly members, thus confirming him.
The occasion which had in attendance of the rep of Wassa Amenfi East Traditional Council, Western Regional Minister, Hon. Kwabena Otchere Darko Mensah, Member of Parliament (MP), Hon Nicholas Amankwah, Party chairman, Kweku Badu and other dignitaries.
He was duly sworn-in by the Regional Minister, Hon. Kwabena Otchere Darko Mensah, thereby, replacing Hon. Helena Appiah the then Municipal Chief Executive.
Addressing the dignitaries present, the MCE, Hon. Frederick Korankye, thanked the President, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo for appointing him. He thanked the Assembly Members and Government Appointees for the confidence reposed in him to steer the affairs in the Wassa Amenfi East Municipal.
“I say thank you. Firstly, the thanks goes to the Almighty God. I would also like to thank H.E President Nana Akufo-Addo and the Regional Minister, Hon. Kwabena Otchere Darko Mensah, the MP for the area, Hon. Nicholas Amankwah as well as the Assembly Members who imposed on me this overwhelming endorsement, all I ask is for us to work together in unity,” he stated.
He pledged his commitment to the development of Wassa Amenfi East Municipal adding that his doors are open for fruitful advice and contributions to the wellbeing of the area.
“I promise to work hard to justify this confidence. I also promise to work with all of you to ensure that developmental projects are brought to this Municipality,” he intimated.
The widely successful occasion also had some confirmed Municipal Chief Executives within the Western Region in attendance.
